Katrina’s research is on Pacific Lamprey ammocoete habitat. Ammocoetes are a relatively immobile life stage and live in highly mobile silt deposits in the river for 3-10 years. She is looking at where in a watershed; drainage area and channel type; ammocoete habitat is and how the ammocoete habitat diminishes with the summer streamflow recession curve. The research can guide stream restoration as well as streamflow management.
